ePortfolio for Ana Oropeza
Welcome to my eportfolio
The fact that I came to the United States at a young age was a huge impact in my life. Adapting and discovering a new culture and language was very challenging but not impossible. It helped me to appreciate my parents’ efforts by bringing me to this country for a better future. Spanish is very important to me based on my good experiences during high school and in my community college,it inspired me to stick to my culture by having a better understanding about my roots. It has also inspired me to become a High School teacher somehow to educate students about the importance of getting to know your own culture.
I choose the World Languages and Culture program because I want to do as much as possible to improve my Spanish by speaking it but especially at writing it. Me as a student I try to do my best to overcome any obstacle in my career, with courage everything will be possible. I believe that giving up its not an option for me. Earning my bachelor’s in Spanish will help me to be prepared to teach high school students to focus in their goals by sharing my own experiences as a migrant teacher. My goal is to have a closer outlook of Spanish by organizing different field trips to different places in Latin America. Students will have the opportunity to have closer connection with their culture by building knowledge and experience from different perspectives. |
