Course Reflective Narrative
Global Studies 362 is a class required by the university to complete the requirement of GWAR. The global studies class is very interesting because it meets the requirements of MLO 4 because it opens the door to a totally different culture. It is a class that by reading the authors expose us to different scenarios and important issues that affect and somehow continue to affect people. By reading essays, novels and stories I could analyze and understand the behavior of different ethnic groups. The book struck me most was the work of Bartholomew of houses as it introduces us to the injustices committed by the Spaniards with the natives on his arrival in America. In this book I acquired important information that had never heard before, such that Bartholomew house document all these data because it was the companion of Hernán Cortés at that time. We should also mention that he was a defender of the Indians, he always tried to create justice for these rights but this had never happened. Especially this work describes the Indian as a human being with feelings and not as the animal that ignorance of the Spaniards tried. An important form of learning in this class was discussing our views and realize that today some of these situations still occur in our society. Upon learning of these stories in the future I'd like to hear some anecdotes that reflect the impact that caused the arrival of the Spaniards and their conquest, especially the generations descended from these people affected during the conquest.
